Christina + Tyler wedding | Grand Rapids wedding photographer |

I don’t even remember how old I was, maybe 4th or 5th grade. I just remember that we were going to have new neighbors and that they had three little kids. Wait was Matty even born then? Yeah that’s how long ago it was that I first met Christina. I used to babysit for her and her brothers, not that I’m that much older than Andrew. Christina was this adorable little blond with big beautiful eyes and an even bigger smile. As we got older I got busy being a teenager and moved away to college. But being only 2 doors down I would see the Hoekstra family every now and then I just couldn’t believe what a beautiful young lady Christina was growing up to be.  So when I heard that she had gotten engaged I was a little shocked because I still pictured her as that little girl I used to babysit.  Her mom Sue tells me that when Christina was looking for a wedding photographer she found this one that she absolutely loved. She was showing her mom the website and blog. So Sue being a mom clicked on the about me and well what did she find, my picture 🙂  Christina had no idea that the photographer she loved was her old babysitter and neighbor! I guess you could call it fate.

Christina and Tyler had a gorgeous wedding this past June. The day started out perfect at Calvin Christian Reformed Church as they were surrounded by their family and friends. Dark clouds and a quick little shower interrupted our pictures after the ceremony but that didn’t bother anyone because their reception at Centennial Country Club was rocking due to the amazing Main Street Dueling Pianos. If you really want to take your reception up a notch, then you have to check them out. They had people dancing and singing all night long! Oh yes and I can’t forget about the details and the flowers, peach flowers and milk vases were stunning on the king george style tables.

I couldn’t have asked for a more fabulous day for Christina and Tyler. They are an amazing couple who’s love is very strong and blessed. Thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your wedding day, I am so happy that I can give you this gift. I hope these pictures bring back that same joy and love that you felt on your wedding day. 🙂
