Katia + Scott Wedding | Camp Blodgett Lake Michigan Wedding Photographer |

As I sit and edit the photos for blog posts I usually try to write the intro in my head while I work. It usually change it about 200 times. I’ve never been a writer, which I think is why I have been so bad at posting lately. On facebook all I have to do is post some pictures and that’s it, nice and easy! But the wedding of Katia + Scott totally deserves something more than just a few pictures on facebook. They deserve a novel about their amazing wedding day, it was that awesome! Oh my where do I even start, at the beginning I guess.

It all started last summer when Katia contacted me for a meeting. I met Katia and her mother at my then studio, along with Ella. Yes I sometimes have to bring Ella with me to meetings, I honestly think she is the reason why I book those events! Ella snuggled right up on the couch with them and completely won their hearts. Although I would like to think that my personality and my work is the reason why Katia booked me but when I showed up on their wedding day and her mom asked me if Ella was coming, I knew the real answer.  So don’t be surprised if Ella makes an appearance at every meeting! I knew right after that meeting that I just had to be their wedding photographer, best friend and that they were my couple crush 🙂

My love affair for Katia and Scott really started though when Charlie and I flew to Boston last October for their engagement session. I really got the opportunity to get to know these two in their own element. They are goofy, fun, love to laugh, passionate, real and so flipping in love. I couldn’t help but fall in love with them both that weekend (Charlie even loved hanging out with them too!).  So when their wedding day came around this past summer at Camp Blodgett on Lake Michigan I was ecstatic and nervous that I would even do their wedding justice. Everything with them though is so easy. They were completely game for anything, even standing in poison ivy, unknownly of course. They kept me laughing and each other laughing the whole day. I still look at their pictures and I have to laugh out loud and the memories of their day.  I can’t say thank you enough for asking me to be their photographer. Their family and friends were amazing, so loving and welcoming and made me feel just like one of them, not just the photographer. So thank you to the whole wedding for one heck of party. This is definitely one wedding I won’t be forgetting 🙂
